Bio

Doug is both an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University, he earned his CPA license as an associate in the Tax and Audit departments of Price Waterhouse. Doug went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he received the Pittsburgh Tax Club Memorial Prize for excellence in course work in federal taxation and the David R. Bookstaver Award for excellence in course work in wills, trusts and estates. He was also business editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce.

In addition to owning and operating his own law firm, Doug is Of Counsel to the Pittsburgh law firm Williams Coulson, a law firm specially designed to provide counsel on estate, tax, retirement and business planning matters for the closely-held business, family group, executive and professional. Doug was formerly a financial planner with a fee-based financial planning firm where he obtained his Series 6, 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses and an Accident and Health, Life and Fixed Annuities insurance license.

Doug is secretary/treasurer of the State College Area School District Education Foundation, president of Centre Region Estate planning Council, president of Centred Basketball, and secretary of the Penn State Hoops Club. He was a founding member of the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army of Centre County, the Board of Directors of the Centre Region Estate Planning Council, and the Board of Directors of Centred Basketball. Doug is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Centre County and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Centre County Bar Association, and the Centre Region Estate Planning Council.
